Evalys Azuara, a sophomore from Coffeyville, has been selected as the Eta Gamma Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa Member of the Month for September.

Evalys serves the Eta Gamma Chapter as co-vice president of service.  In that capacity, she serves as chairman for the chapter's many service projects.  Evalys has attended the Defending the American Dream Summit in Columbus, Ohio and assisted with the grounds beautification project at the caretakers cottage at the Brown Mansion. 

She has helped with several chapter fund raising events such as cleaning the fair grounds during the inter-state fair and rodeo, selling Raven Gear at football games and stadium cleaning.  In the near future, the chapter will be participating in Operation Christmas Child and the St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital Marathon.

Evalys is an international business major. She is a member of the Red Raven cheer team, and is a staff member at the Coffeyville Boys and Girls Club.  She will continue her education at the University of California-Berkley or the University of Texas-Austin.  Evalys parents are Ray and Lettie Azuara of Coffeyville.
