Eta Gamma Officers Hold October Meeting

Officers of the Eta Gamma Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa held their October Officers Meeting at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 5, in the chapter’s board office.  Guests at the meeting were Shannon Bridgewater of Forever Young Medical Aesthetics and Wellness Center, and Skip Hale, administrator with Professional Urgent Care, both of Webb City, Missouri.

The meeting was called to order by President Colter Comstock and officers repeated the Phi Theta Kappa Mission Statement.  Correspondence, officer roll call and minutes were provided by Secretary Eleora Howard.  The treasurer’s report reflected registration assistance for eight members attending the St. Jude Marathon December 4-6.

The Leadership Hallmark was presented by Colter Comstock who announced he would present the Eta Gamma Report at the October 19 College Board of Trustees Meeting.  The Scholarship Hallmark Report was presented by chapter advisor Linda McFate.  She shared information from the September 24 educational meeting at the Brown Mansion and announced the October general membership meeting will feature guest speaker Wes Koschke from Toronto.  It was announced that Honors in Action conference registration is due October 15.  The conference is November 6-8 in Topeka.  Members are to be working on their All-Kansas, All USA Scholarship applications.

The Service Hallmark Report was presented by co-vice presidents Evalys Azura and Tanner Vieyra.  Included in their report were the Lions Club Pancake Feed tickets, the Midland Theatre Clean-Up Project, and the Operation Christmas Child Denver Field Trip, November 24-28 with a shoebox collection date of November 16-20.  Trick or Treat So Kids Can Eat will be October 29, 6:00 p.m. at 209 West Martin.  An update on the Brown Mansion Caretaker cottage Project was also given.

Polette Medina and Connor Kagy, co-vice presidents of fellowship, announced that those assisting with the October 24 Brown Mansion Spook Trail should report at 7:15 and the chapter hayrack ride and Weiner roast will be October 16 at the Traxson farm east of Coffeyville.  Additional officer reports were presented by Ray Garoutte, Reina Garcia, Jonathan Kowalezyk and Karen McKenzie.  Under new business, the chapter voted to accept the health screening project.  The chapter will also be selling Raven Gear the Butler and Dodge City football games.  A stadium cleaning schedule was provided to each officer.  The next general membership meeting will be October 20, at 5:30 p.m., room 107 Weinberg Hall.
