Fine Arts Department Combines Forces For Raven Holiday Stage Show

The Coffeyville Community College Fine Arts Department will entertain Raven Holiday guests with a variety of holiday instrumental music performed by the CCC Jazz Band, songs performed by the CCC Concert Choir, and with a production of "Deck The Stage" by CCC theatre students. Two shows will be offered during the Raven Holiday festivities on Friday, one at 6 p.m. and a second at 8 p.m. Performances will be in the Spencer/Rounds Theatre on the Main Campus of CCC, and admission is free. The performances run approximately 55 minutes each.

"Deck the Stage" is a show comprised of three short plays which will include: "Still as Stone", "Deck the Halls With Poison Ivy", and "Ms. Meyermyer's Shining Moment." Three "Tree Monologues" will also comprise the theatre department's production.

Students performing in "Deck the Stage" include: Bailey Jackson, Kenzie Bauer, Trevor Jones, Tylar Dougan, Katelyn Shearhart, Amber Holcomb and Karl Wittenburg.

The CCC Concert Choir will perform four selections during the theatre production: "In the Bleak Midwinter", "Deck the Halls", "O' Christmas Tree", and "The Twelve Days of Christmas."

Those singing with the CCC Concert Choir include: John Isaacs, Christopher Ramsey, Mikel Knipe, Gilbert Brignoni III, Simon Westhoff, Courtney Garton, Michaela Warmbrodt, Serenity Johnson, Lyric Brooks, Erin Gilmore and Maryssa Stukey.

Prior to the start of the stage production, the CCC Jazz Band will provide preshow music. Performers in the jazz band include: Nick Porter, Nicholas Roesky, Brady Kendrick, Ryan Bellamy, Simon Westhoff, Courtland Stephens and Kristi Reedy.

The theatre production is under the direction of CCC Theatre Director Ryan Mahannah. The CCC Concert Choir is under the direction of Christopher Langsford and the Jazz Band is under the leadership of Dr. Michael Christensen.

The production crew consists of Ryan Mahannah, Kenzie Bauer, Tylar Dougan, Marissa Beckstorm and Kyler Beard.

The Raven Holiday event begins at 5 p.m., prior to the stage productions later in the evening. Admission to Raven Holiday is free, although some food and vendor items may have a charge. Raven Holiday is a family-friendly event that includes games for the kids, carriage rides, cookie decorating and a chance to visit with Santa Claus among the many activities available.
