Electrical Technology Instructor

  • Email Tyler Cook

Tyler is a proud graduate of the Electrical Technologies program at Coffeyville Community College, where he earned his Associate of Applied Science in Electrical Technology before beginning a career in the electrical industry. After spending more than 10 years working in industrial, commercial, and residential electrical construction, he returned to the program as an instructor to help prepare the next generation of electricians. He is a licensed Journeyman Electrician in the State of Missouri and also holds an electrical license with the City of Coffeyville.

Throughout his career, Tyler has enjoyed solving problems, working with his hands, and taking pride in seeing a project come together. Today, he brings that same passion into the classroom, where he combines real-world experience with hands-on instruction to prepare students for careers in the electrical trade.

What motivates Tyler most is watching students discover what they're capable of. Whether it's seeing a difficult concept finally click or watching a student gain the confidence to tackle a project on their own, he believes there is nothing more rewarding than helping someone develop a skill that can provide a lifetime of opportunity. His teaching philosophy centers on creating a classroom where students are challenged, supported, and encouraged to think critically while developing the technical skills and professionalism expected in the electrical industry.

His hope is that every student leaves his classroom with more than technical knowledge. He wants them to leave with confidence in their abilities, pride in their craftsmanship, and the understanding that learning doesn't stop after graduation. If he can help a student build a rewarding career, provide for themselves and their family, and take pride in their craft, he considers that his greatest success as an instructor.
