Michael Ching is a composer, conductor, songwriter and performer. He is best known in the field of opera, where he has written a dozen one-act and full-length operas.

The sound of music will be in the air on the CCC campus this spring as the music department has announced the dates of their spring concerts.

February Sky is a duo of traditional singer and guitarist Phil Cooper and singer songwriter Susan Urban. Together they bring their own arrangements and style to chosen songs from the best of modern Folk songs.

Coffeyville Community College-Columbus Technical Campus is offering an evening welding class. The class has been designed for residents who are interested in learning welding technique but do not wish to complete the full certification.

Dezirae Hamrick, a freshman psychology major at Coffeyville Community College has been selected as March Member of the Month by the Eta Gamma Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa.

The CCC Theatre Department's next production will be "The Great American Trailer Park Musical." The musical will be staged at 7:30 p.m., April 9-12, in the Spencer/Rounds Performing Arts Theatre on the main campus of Coffeyville Community College.

Kansas high school students have new opportunities for Career and Technical training at CCC tuition free. Under Senate Bill 155, tuition is paid by the State of Kansas for high school students to pursue college level courses in technical fields preparing them for high demand and high wage careers.

Twenty-one members of the Eta Gamma Chapter at Coffeyville Community College participated in the Kansas Region Convention March 7-9, at the University of Kansas and Spring Hill Suites, Lawrence.

Coffeyville Community College Native American Leadership program will sponsor “Rally in the Valley,” a youth competition and intertribal powwow, on Saturday March 29.

Coffeyville Community College Nursing is celebrating a #6 ranking in the state of Kansas. CCC was ranked #6 out of 24 schools in Kansas that offer nursing programs.

Lem Sheppard is a self-taught guitarist from Kansas City. The Blues, Jazz and Folk musician trained under Dr. Eva Jessye, who gained international fame as the original choral director in George Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess.

Holly Reed is a songwriter and performing artist from Southeast Kansas. Her latest program presents stories about coal mining and local Kansas history.

The CCC Columbus Technical Campus lent a helping hand in providing time and materials for a seatbelt awareness campaign in Cherokee County.
