Coffeyville Community College Music and Theatre Departments under the direction of Music Director Darla Strecker and Theatre Director Mark Frank will hold auditions for L. Frank Baum's The Wizard of Oz based off the MGM movie classic. The musical follows the movie script and is licensed through Tams Whitmark. The auditions will he held August 16, 7-10 p.m. and are open to the community and college students. Children ages 7-18 will also be auditioned for roles as Munchkins, Flying Monkeys, Talking Tree's, Poppies and Oz workers. The role of Toto has already been pre-cast. Auditioners should prepare a simple song and be prepared to read from the script. Rehearsals will only be once or twice a week for children ending at 8:30 p.m. and adults rehearsals will be Monday-Thursday from 7-10 p.m. The performances will be September 30 through October 2 at 7:30 each night in the Spencer/Rounds Theatre.
