'1930s COUNTRY BLUES'

- stories and the music of Big Bill Broonzy, Robert Johnson, Reverend Gary Davis, Blind Blake and others.

Acoustic blues guitarist, singer and songwriter Dan Bliss will perform songs by some of the original country blues masters. He'll talk about their backgrounds and their influence on the generations of musicians that have followed in their footsteps. He'll also share a few of his original songs directly inspired by these artists.

Bliss is a well traveled performer of blues, rags and swing tunes from the 1930s that resonate in his singing, songwriting and ‘band in a box’ guitar style. He has twice made the top three in the Walnut Valley Festival’s International Fingerstyle Guitar Championship and has appeared at the New York State Blues Festival in his hometown of Syracuse NY. Bliss lives in Kansas City, inspired by the traditions of blues and jazz and the incredible wealth of local talent.
