Coffeyville Community College’s Humanities Program will welcome veteran country
music entertainer Carl Acuff Jr. for a free performance at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, in the Spencer/Rounds Theatre.
Acuff will bring his “Country Music Unplugged” show to the CCC stage, offering audiences an intimate acoustic performance featuring country favorites spanning from the 1950s to today, along with stories, humor, and plenty of audience entertainment.
For more than four decades, Acuff has entertained audiences around the world, traveling more than 3 million miles throughout his career. He has led a Branson-based showband for more than 30 years and, since 2013, has performed as part of the Grammy Award-winning country duo The Kendalls.
Acuff is also the star of a premier U.S. tribute to legendary country artist Glen Campbell. Throughout his career, he has received recognition including nominations and awards for Entertainer of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year. While audiences may be accustomed to seeing Acuff as part of larger productions, “Country Music Unplugged” offers a different experience. The acoustic format brings the music and stories to the forefront, giving
audiences an up-close and personal evening of familiar songs, laughter, and memories.
The performance is part of CCC’s ongoing Humanities Program, which brings musicians, storytellers,
entertainers, and other performers to campus throughout the year. All Humanities Program performances are free and open to the community.
