CCC President’s Message

4/6/2020

Greetings Ravens!

Another week is completed and almost all classes are operating in an online format.  The administrative team continues to monitor the situation and will continue to update our students through the CCC website and student email.  We remain hopeful we’ll be able to finish up our CTE program students’ hands-on activities and clinicals in May or June after the stay home order is lifted.

Coffeyville Community College is working with our area high schools to make arrangements for their students to complete programs as they need the credits for graduation.  We continue to ask students to communicate with their respective course instructors for guidance on their specific program.  As previously noted the spring semester may be extended to accommodate the completion of hands on, clinical, and/or internship requirements.

Students do have the option of withdrawing from classes and CCC has moved the last day to drop back to April 24th.  Summer and Fall enrollment will begin on April 27th.  Students may contact the Student Success Center or Chris Cameron to arrange a time to enroll.  CCC is planning to adjust the upcoming summer school schedule to all online offerings if needed as this situation evolves.

CCC announced last week a pro-rated refund for Residence Hall students who chose to go home.  This announcement was sent to student email accounts for those affected and can be viewed in the student’s Raven Access account.  Please contact the Business Office if you have questions.

We are receiving questions about scholarships for next year.  CCC continues to provide scholarships for students for next year and plans to honor scholarships previously awarded for academics, activities, and/or athletics.

Our focus right now is on the success of our current students in the online format and want everyone to be successful.  We continue to encourage students to utilize the online Off-Campus Student Support tab on the CCC website. This link will provide you with information and assistance with Moodle, College Email, Raven Access, or a tutor. t

Continue your social distancing and stay home if possible.

Sincerely,

Dr. Thornburg
